We are currently undergoing an organizational restructure. As many are already aware, the restrictions of the pandemic have been devastating for the events industries & The Miss Upper Peninsula program has been severely impacted as well. With so much up in the air and the inability to confirm a date for our production due to restrictions on gatherings and indoor events, we could not recruit or properly prepare for our production as we have for the past seven years. After careful review, we've come to the decision that we need to work through an organizational rebuild & restructure in order to get back to a place where we feel we would be able to once again be able to independently produce an event that is of the same or similar quality that the community & our contestants have grown to expect.
We pivoted the Miss Upper Peninsula Program away from a large scale production event at the theatre & instead are going to be hosting a coaching event annually for a few years, which is going to give more of the incredibly talented young women in our area an opportunity properly prepare to go compete directly at the State level competition & allow our program time to rebuild & restructure so that we can return even bigger and better than before.
When we do return to a full scale Pageant Production the winners of the MISS UPPER PENINSULA USA & MISS UPPER PENINSULA TEEN USA Pageants will advance to enter into the official MISS MICHIGAN USA & MISS MICHIGAN TEEN USA Pageants, official preliminaries to MISS TEEN USA and the Nationally Telecast MISS USA Pageant.
Once Crowned, the new MISS UPPER PENINSULA USA & MISS UPPER PENINSULA TEEN USA will embark on a year like no other, not only will the winners have the opportunity of a lifetime to enter into the state level official MISS USA & MISS TEEN USA Preliminaries, but she will also travel across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan representing her title, making appearances, and being a role model to young women across the Upper Peninsula.
